TouchMod IN is a Windows VST3 plugin that adds multitouch control to virtual instruments. It lets you control synthesizers, samplers and other VST3 instruments from a surface that responds directly to the movement of your fingers. Use a Windows multitouch display or control the pad wirelessly from an iPad.

Software instruments often provide more parameters than you can comfortably perform with using a mouse or a hardware controller with a fixed layout. TouchMod IN lets you choose the controls that matter for a particular sound and bring them together on a multitouch surface shaped around the way you play.
Each finger position can control one parameter on the X axis and another on the Y axis. Use up to four fingers at the same time to move as many as eight parameters during one performance. Open a filter while raising resonance, shift the timbre while changing modulation depth, or move several parts of a patch without adjusting every control separately.
TouchMod IN can load two VST3 instruments inside one instance. Parameters from both instruments can be placed on the same pad. Use this to build layers, combine contrasting sounds or let related controls from both instruments move together. Each instrument keeps its own interface, presets and internal settings.
Parameters can be assigned in two ways. Activate Learn mode and move a knob or slider in the loaded instrument. TouchMod detects the parameter and connects it to the selected axis. You can also choose directly from the full parameter list, including controls that the plugin exposes to the host but does not show clearly in its main interface.
TouchMod IN can record your touch gestures and replay them as looping parameter movements. Change the speed and amplitude while the loop is running. A small gesture can gradually grow, accelerate or remain as subtle movement behind the sound. The loop begins with a movement you perform by hand, without drawing an automation curve.
The pad can be displayed on a separate Windows multitouch screen. You can also use the free TouchMod Remote app to turn an iPad into a wireless control surface over your local network. Your DAW and instrument interfaces stay visible on the main computer screen while the touch controls remain close to your hands.

Designed to Put Instrument Control in Your Hands
Hardware controllers remain useful for playing notes, mixing tracks and controlling functions that stay in the same place. TouchMod IN focuses on another part of the workflow: the parameters that reshape an instrument while you listen and perform.
Because the control surface is created in software, each instrument can have its own layout. A synthesizer patch might place most of the space around filter, timbre and modulation. A sampler setup might focus on layers, pitch, envelopes and internal effects. You decide which controls belong together for the sound you are working on.
With two loaded instruments, TouchMod IN can also become a playable layered setup. Move related parameters from both instruments with one gesture, or give each instrument its own areas of the pad. The balance between the two instruments can also become part of the performance.
When used with TouchMod Remote, the iPad becomes a dedicated wireless surface for TouchMod IN. The connection runs through your local network, with no internet connection required while you work. Your computer screen remains available for the DAW and instrument interfaces, while the pad stays within easy reach.
